MANABI Japanese Language Institute are now recruiting students at Nagano, Tokyo and Shinjuku School

Activity

images/hanami.jpgWe have a different activity every month, including sports, cultural experiences, trips and parties. You can experience not only Japanese culture, but also participate in cultural exchanges with fellow students from a number of different countries.  Our international student body makes this possible.

School tour

Once a year, we make an overnight trip. The destination is different every year, but past destinations include Kyoto, Nikko and Kusatsu, the hot-spring capital. It is stimulating to experience first hand the different local cultures of each of these destinations. You will learn a new local culture which may be different from the one you experienced near your school. We also have a few daytrips a year. We have been to Tokyo Disneyland, watched a Sumo wrestling tournament... These are just some of the many interesting activities we offer.

Sports event

Through sports, we aim to develop the students’ spirit, technique and physical strength.
During a group competition in which everyone can participate, we may play basketball, volleyball, futsal, or another sport . Being that Japan is the birthplace of JUDO, you will be able to try our national sport, which will also provide you with insights into Japanese culture . Our sports program is always designed for students to learn something.

Traditional tea ceremony, Japanese calligraphy, and Kimonos

“You cannot truly understand a different culture until you have experienced it.” MANABI gives you the opportunity to understand Japanese culture through activities.

MANABI Festival

Every February, we hold a big and important festival at school, The MANABI Festival .
During the festival, students participate in a Japanese speech contest and give a presentation about their respective countries. This is a chance for a student to show his/her language ability and introduce his / her home country.  This festival is an international exchange where people of different nationalities can interact with the local Japanese people. .
